Bears grey-green, lance-shaped leaves turning butter-yellow in the autumn, growing on arching branches. Stunning 'royal red' flowers are borne in fragrant spikes, the flowers are rich in nectar, highly attractive to bees, butterflies, ladybirds and Hoverflies and other beneficial insects. A lovely shrub for the cottage or wildlife garden, but great for any garden, and thrive particularly well in chalky soils.
