Callistemon Bottlebrush Citrinus

Callistemon bottle brush is an extremely stunning plant to have, a marvellous shrub to add to the Mediterranean themed garden. Bottlebrush bears arching stems, smothered in lance-shaped, narrow, leathery leaves, which are coppery in spring and lustrous, vivid green in summer. The leaves when crushed, have a wonderful lemon scent. During the spring, crimson spikes of brush like flowers emerge from large silver buds, followed by woody seed capsules. Plant within a sunny border or bed, or can be grown against a sunny wall or even as a specimen in a container or tub on the patio.
