Laurel is one of the most common plants used for hedging. It's very hardy and can easily be pruned to maintain the required height. It's a great all-round plant boasting lush evergreen leaves which is great for privacy. It can grow in most soils without any problem and is one of the best hedging plants that will thrive in shade. Grows into a dense hedge and produces little, fragrant white flowers in the spring which turn into black berries which attracts birds to the garden.
